MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

With great enthusiasm the cast of the Musical Theatre Workshop together with UHS Choir conducted by Ms. Alrejandra Ortega Bauer, performed «NEWSIES» for the whole primary school community.

«NEWSIES» is an original musical play from Disney Theatrical Productions set in New York City at the turn of the century. “It’s about Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged “NEWSIES,” who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies NEWSIES from across the city to strike for what’s right.” It’s based on a true story!

It was a lovely afternoon that we shared! Thanks to Ms. Gabriela Belocopitow and Ms. Mariana Cardaci who organized such a wonderful celebration for Children’s Day.

The Musical Theatre Workshop is ready for more!

Every Monday afternoon from 17:00 to 18:00 a group of artist students get together at the school theatre to develop different skills as Musical Theatre performers guided by Ms Daniela Conti. We dance, we act, we sing, we play different drama games while acquiring acting skills.
NEWSIES show was the outcome of what we have been working on during the first part of the year.
